My name is Brad Soat — flight nurse, paramedic, ultrarunner, father of three, and follower of Jesus.

For years, my life was defined by stress, survival, and self-inflicted setbacks.

I battled alcohol, using it to numb anxiety and escape the pressure of emergency medicine.
I struggled with depression and anxiety, often feeling overwhelmed and stuck.
I wrestled with anger and impatience, losing my peace more often than I’d admit.
And I carried constant financial stress, working to recover from my own poor decisions.

I’m not proud of that season—but God used it.

Running became a place of clarity.
Jesus became the foundation that rebuilt me.
Discipline became the path that restored direction.

As my faith deepened and my running became more consistent, something became impossible to ignore:

Runners had countless brands, clubs, and communities—
but none that boldly represented Christ.

There was no visible Christian running presence.
No place where faith and running were openly connected.
No space for believers to grow as runners—and even more importantly, grow as Christians.

That gap felt like a calling.

That calling became HolyFit Co.
